 The Women

Of Lockerbrie

by Deborah Brevoort

September 11th and 12th

Mud Creek Players is thrilled to announce a two performance showing of “The Women of Lockerbie” by Deborah Brevoort on September 11th and 12th. Presented by a group of Mud Creek members looking for safe ways to share our love of theater with the community, “The Women of Lockerbie” is a story of hope which seemed especially fitting for the current climate.

We know that everyone’s comfort and safety levels are different, so we’ve opened the grounds for this production under stringent safety measures. Attendance will be controlled through a reservation system and the performance will take place outside with social distancing enforced and mask-wearing highly encouraged. Hand sanitizer stations will be established, and patrons are asked to bring their own chairs/blankets.

The volunteers putting up the show will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust the safety plan as needed. The health and safety of the patrons, cast, crew and volunteers is of upmost importance to Mud Creek Players! Tickets are free but you must have a reservation to attend.

Coming Soon!

The Lovers’ Landing Beach Hotel, a popular wedding destination, has acquired a certain mystique as the home of Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses. Recently  inheriting the hotel from her late father, Audrina Brown quickly discovers that her Uncle Bubba, the hotel manager is running a variety of “extra-curricular activities” on the property.  It’s a mystery. It’s a love story. It’s a new farce by the authors of Sex Please We’re Sixty.

Thanks for the memories...

Steel Magnolias

by Robert Harling

Presented with permission by Dramatists Play Services, Inc.

September 13th - 28th, 2019

Steel Magnolias is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done and where the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice.  Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play eventually moves toward tragedy. The sudden realization of their own mortality affects the ladies of Chinquapin, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

We hope you enjoyed the show!
